Our Itinerary

Friday 22 March

0215 hrs Leave from the Botanical Gardens to travel to Newcastle Airport

0740 hrs EasyJet flight EZ6407 to Malaga, Spain

1155 hrs Arrive Malaga Airport and transfer by two mini-buses with trailers: Calypso Tours to The Caleta Hotel, Gibraltar for three nights’ bed & breakfast (bring own packed lunch to eat en route)

Later transfer by local bus for the first netball matches of the tour at St Anne’s School indoor courts adjacent to Victoria Stadium (Victoria Stadium, off Winston Churchill Avenue)

1700hrs GIBRALTAR SELECT C V SHEFFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Netball ‘C’

1800hrs GIBRALTAR SELECT C V SHEFFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Netball ‘B’

1900hrs GIBRALTAR SELECT C V SHEFFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Netball ‘A’

After the games return to the hotel to enjoy an evening meal at the accommodation (included)

Saturday 23 March

Sightseeing and shopping in the town and lunch in Casemates Square (own funding)

After lunch return to Victoria Stadium (Victoria Stadium, Off Winston Churchill Avenue) for second set of netball matches:

MATCH 2 v SHEFFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Netball ‘A’

MATCH 2 v SHEFFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Netball ‘B’

MATCH 2 v SHEFFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Netball ‘C’

This evening - walk to Ocean Village for dinner at Pizza Express (included)

Sunday 24 March

1000hrs Guided tour of The Rock of Gibraltar (included): watch out for those Barbary Apes!

1200hrs Casemates Square for lunch (own funding)

1400hrs Boat trip for a dolphin watching tour (included)

Evening visit to The King’s Bastion Leisure Centre: bowling, ice skating and cinema (subsidised) - buy own evening meal at the centre

Monday 25 March

0900hrs Transfer to Malaga and the Aubergue Juvenil for the final three nights on the tour on a half-board basis (bed, breakfast and evening meal)

1230hrs Snack lunch (own funding) and sightseeing afternoon hop-on-hop-off bus tour including the Old Town of Malaga (included)

2000hrs Dinner at the accommodation

Tuesday 26 March

Morning to enjoy the beach including the SHS Beach Game Competition!

Snack lunch en route back to accommodation (own funding)

1515hrs Walk to the astroturf (Ciudad Deportiva de Carranque Avda. Santa Roasa de Lima S/N Malaga) to prepare for first hockey matches –

1600 hrs CD MALAGA 91 v SHEFFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Hockey ‘A’

1700 hrs CD MALAGA 91 v SHEFFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Hockey ‘B’

2000 hrs Dinner at the accommodation

Evening perhaps browsing at the nearby Larios Shopping Centre or going to local ice cream parlour or coffee shop

Wednesday 27 March

Shopping in the busy chic area of Malaga where there are many boutiques, designer shops and classy cafes where you can buy your own lunch

1515hrs Walk to the astroturf (Ciudad Deportiva de Carranque Avda. Santa Roasa de Lima S/N

Malaga) to prepare for first hockey matches –

1600 hrs CD MALAGA 91 v SHEFFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Hockey ‘B’

1700 hrs CD MALAGA 91 v SHEFFIELD HIGH SCHOOL Hockey ‘A’

2000 hrs Dinner at the accommodation

Tour entertainment evening: Team Tour Quiz, Beach and Tour Presentations

Thursday 28 March

0930 hrs Check out and board the coach for the transfer to Malaga airport

1230 hrs Flight EZ6408 bound for NEWCASTLE

1450 hrs Arrive at Newcastle Airport

1715 hrs Return to Botanical Gardens
